Moderna desperately needs new products since the Covid-19 shot demand has fallen and the firm has no other products on the market. The firm's stock price fell by 45% during 2023 as a result.

Car Buyers Can Get Their EV Tax Credits Up Front at the Dealership Starting in January (Micro News for October 14, 2023 – October 20, 2023)

Green consumers looking for an electric vehicle (EV) will receive a boost from the $7,500 tax credit that they can soon apply at the dealership to lower the price of the EV. The tax credits are part of the Inflation Reduction Act and they will take effect on January 1, 2024. Consumers that buy a used EV will get a $4,000 credit. Hybrid vehicles are also eligible to have the credits applied to reduce the purchase price.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, stated that global warming was having horrendous effects around the world. Guterres claimed that "humanity has opened the gates to hell" and that we need to accelerate the fight against climate change. One thing Guterres stated must happen is to end the approximately $7 trillion in annual fossil fuel subsidies.

UPS Workers Approve Massive New Labor Deal with Big Raises (Micro News for August 26, 2023 – September 1, 2023)

Package delivery firm UPS and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters finalized a five-year labor agreement when over 86% of the union members voted to approve of the deal. The UPS workers will receive large pay increases and various other benefits focused on improving working conditions and scheduling.
